Sometimes you make a quilt and it just tells you how it wants to be quilted. When I made this quilt it went right from the sewing machine to the frame. No ruminating needed.
Not so much with the quilt I am working on now. A few weeks ago I purchased the most wonderful bundle of Alison Glass Handcrafted 2.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. One of my goals for 2015 was to make a quilt with curves. Up until now I have been shying away, but I had an idea for a block I wanted to try.
It is an adaptation of a Shoo Fly block using quarter circles in place of the half square triangles. After some experimenting and improvisation with the layout I ended up with this quilt top.
I am pretty happy with how it turned out and I know quilting will really bring this thing to life. Except I am unsure how I want to quilt it. I have changed my mind at least a dozen times. After 2 weeks of indecision I decided today: "That's it!" It is going on the frame tomorrow and I will figure it out as I go. Better done than sitting in a drawer. Stayed tuned for my progress.
Thanks for reading.

PS. I am going to attempt to link up to Let's Bee Social over at Sew Fresh Quilts. I have been follow her blog for the last year and I love the quilting community vibe.
